One word AWESOME!!
My God this was one hell of a good book. Miss Gracie is a genius. I am not kidding.
I was laughing my girly parts off most of the time when I reading this book. It was awesome!!!
Prudence was this absolutely responsible, loyal, sometimes even uptight, kinda person who takes care of her 4 sisters like a mother, comforting and protecting them from her manic-evil grandfather. She is just selfless in thinking only of her sisters' happiness as she gently persuades them to do what should be done even when they seem risky.
You just have to love Prudence for her absolute crazy ideas that only worked because of Gideon.
And Gideon was just ah!!!!!!
Gideon is the perfect rake, or in the modern world a millionaire playboy that will simply charm the panties off you. You can't help but laugh at the antics and it's just adorable when he realises that he is in love with Prudence [when rakes fall, they fall hard].
It was heart breaking to read Gideon's back story. It was a miracle he did not go bitter and hate life. And it was even more sad to learn about Prudence's secret. So many annoying things [ like why she was so loyal to that loser Phillip, even though she was in love with Gideon, etc.,] she made sense.
After everything was revealed. Gideon and Prudence just seemed so much more perfect together.
Frankly, Prudence's sisters just annoyed me. They were mostly just self-centred, annoying girls who just practically said 'Prudence will take care of everything, so let's not waste time worrying about how we are going to survive. That's Prudence's job'.
All the secondary characters were very well built. They all had major roles in the story and were an integral part of the story. Even, the loser Phillip, who in my opinion, deserves to burn in hell.
I did not expect the bits of thrill in this book. I thought, it would only be romance and all, but there were some pretty good twists and turns that will keep you reading [ Trust me, I was reading this book the day before my exam and couldn't put it down until I finished] .
This is the first book of Miss Gracie's I am reading and it was one of the best books I have read.
