I know this isn't exactly a proper review, but I am too hyper at the moment. Maybe when Book 2 comes out, I'll do a better job. Sorry.

Review: Bound by Her Ring

Bound by Her Ring by Nicole Flockton

It was a good one-time read.

The story is about Jasmine, who is suffering from amnesia, and doesn't remember the past year of her life. The year she fell in love and got married to the gazzilionaire Luciano. The only indication of any relationship or a marriage is the wedding rings on her finger.

Jasmine, confused and indignant at being threatened with the ruination of her father's business and dragged on a trip to Brome with who claims to be her husband, tries to remember what had happened and why her husband was so angry with her and on the way rediscovers her lost love.

The story is basically what happened on the aftermath of the accident that caused the amnesia.

Spoiler Alert

It really was a good story, but I found some major gaps in the story.

1. I never really saw the point of Luciano dragging off to the unknown only to have sex with her. I understand that he was angry and wanted revenge, but what was the revenge? That's the part I was most confused about.

2. Again, Luciano's anger was completely justified, but I felt that he should have given Jasmine the benefit of doubt, before he completely blamed or even channeled all his anger towards her, especially knowing that her father is a douche who never liked their match. (This is totally my opinion)

3. Jasmine's father is a A-grade douche as I said before. He was the reason the for Luciano's animosity towards Jasmine. In my opinion, Jasmine should have been more mad at her father. I really liked jasmine's character. But it was completely ruined when she very easily forgave her father for all those years of ignorance and harshness, especially after what he did with Jasmine's pregnancy He tells Luciano that Jasmine aborted the fetus when she actually miscarried due to the accident. I am sorry to say, I wanted a fight and little more drama. Especially after it was reiterated throughout the book about how controlling her father was and how much Jasmine hated that.

4. It was like a flashbulb came on in Luciano's mind. One moment, he is there blaming Jasmine and being all angry over it and the next, he is convinced of Jasmine's truthfulness. *sigh* I am again sorry to say, so not happening for me.

The bottom-line is, the story was good, but could have been executed better. But it was a Happily Ever After nonetheless.

Review: The Robber Knight

My very first medieval story and I loved it. It was completely fun and breathtakingly humorous.

The story is about Ayla (the daughter of a Lord) and Ruben (a thief).

Ayla is this super awesome, feisty, stubborn and sharp-tounged girl, who rules the land on behalf of her ill father. One very fine day, Lord Something threatens to wage war on the land if she does not marry him. She very bravely/stupidly says no.

As she comes back from warning the peasants in the suburbs of her land, she is robbed by a Knight in Red armor (Ruben).

The same night, she finds a terribly injured man who seems to have fought and killed the enemy soldiers. She takes him back to her castle where she tends to him, not knowing he is the Robber Knight.

As the battle progresses so does Ayla and Ruben's affection. He lies about his identity, knowing she will hang him for his crimes.

His true identity is a mystery, but since desperate times calls for desperate measures, she chooses to believe his lies and takes battle advises from him.

The book is about how the ruthless and blood-thirsty Ruben falls for the feisty and stubborn Ayla.

The characters are very comical and will make you laugh. And along with the so many other medieval information, the book is interesting and intriguing to say the least.

Book 2: Robber Knight's Love
Book 3: Robber Knight's Secret

Review: Montana Sky

Montana Sky by Nora Roberts

I never get tired of saying this, but this was one other of Nora Roberts' best books. I would give this book 6 stars if that were possible.

This book is definitely a must-read for all this Nora Roberts fans out there and those who love romantic-thrillers.

This books makes you experience all the emotions, one can muster, in every page of the book and does not let you put down until you are done with it. And even then the the book smothers your senses with its one-of-a-kind residue.

To put it in a few simple word, this book is about 3 half-sisters, who have never met before who deal with the death of the father they share and hate in their own same way.

One of them is a Hollywood gal (Tess), one of them (Lilly) on the run from her abusive husband and the last (Willa), grew up on the ranch she's desperately trying to keep as her home.

The catch- All the sisters must live together on the ranch for a year to get their respective inheritance.

One thing the Mercy Sisters have in common is strong character and stubbornness.

Tess, the oldest, wants the money and wants resume the Hollywood career she put on hold. To her, it's the compensation for the years of struggle her mother went through to raise her and for being ignored by her own father.

Lilly, the second eldest, is on the run from her abusive husband who is out to get her. All she wants is a safe-place and the inheritance would just be a bonus. She is soft, caring and plays as the mediator between the other two headstrong sisters.

Willa, the last, is a headstrong female, who tried to prove to her ignorant father her worth. She feels betrayed by her father when, she who has worked all life for the ranch, may not be hers, and that she is being treated the same as that of her other sisters who have never been there.

The book is about the 12 months they live together, getting past their differences, learning to love each other and finding beauty in what they once disliked . And along the way they find their own love of their lives.

The unusual murderers [from the gutted cattle to the sodomized girl] brings them all together in ways only bad experiences do, and keeps you up at night guessing who it might be.

It was a pretty long book, but not long enough for me to put it down. 

Miss Roberts had portrayed elegantly the uniqueness of each of their characters and how their respective male-counters (Nate, Adam and Ben) compliment each of them beautifully and perfectly.

This book has it all, family, friendship, romance that is tied together neatly with the perfect murder mystery to solve.

In the end, the book will leave you breathless with happiness and contentment. I considered this as one of the most perfect Happily Ever Afters.

Review: Sinful

It was a good novella, but had the potential to become an even better novel.

The fact is, the story was too short and there wasn't enough time to relate pr get to know the characters.

I have always enjoyed Miss Page's books. her character's are well-built and have potential. This was a very quick read and I finished this in like 2 hours.

I like books I can connect with, laugh and cry with. But, this unfortunately was not one of those.

The plot itself was very good. But was rushed. The best thing I have always liked about Miss Page is that, her secondary characters are almost as good as her primary ones. But this book hardly shed some light to them.

Sally and Lyan have a kid(Rose). Wouldn't you expect her to atleast to make some appearance in the book? Nope. Rose is completely out of the story. She was given even less importance than a secondary character. I expected Cavell to be more of a problem and Nick Swann just popped out of nowhere.

Lyan was just too forgiving for having the reputation of being an intimidating Bow Street Runner (something like a cop).
